Steps to Download and Send your DMCA Takedown Notice
Click the button. You will find this button on the lower left of the case details page of the notice submitted in the first step.
Alternatively, you can download the Notice PDF by clicking the button at the bottom of the case preview page.
Once you have downloaded the PDF of your takedown notice, it should be emailed to the infringing website and the ISP that hosts the website.
Locate the Infringing Website Contact Information
Search the infringing site for a DMCA/abuse/copyright email address, these are usually found at the very bottom of the home page.
Email your PDF Takedown Notice to the website abuse@ or DMCA@ email address(es).
Notify them that you will also be sending a copy of the Takedown Notice to their ISP.
If you wish you can also CC: the hosting ISP in your email to the infringing website.
Note: If you are unable to find email address for the infringing website don’t worry, it is acceptable to send the DMCA takedown notice to only the hosting ISP.
Locate the Host/ISP Contact Information Using the Website Detective
DMCA.com's Do It Yourself Takedown Toolkit includes the Website Detective, to help you find the DMCA contact email address of the infringing ISP. See the following instructions on how to use it listed below.
Login into DMCA Secure Management Portal login.dmca.com and enter your username and password.
Hover over "Protection" in the top menu.
Select the “Website Detective” option.
Paste the infringing site IP Address, or the site’s address i.e. www.dmca.com, in the dialogue box provided under the heading “IP Address & Domain Research”. This IP address was supplied to you when you created your infringing case.
IMPORTANT after entering the IP address or Domain name do not hit the enter key, please select the button.
Results will display showing "Possible DMCA Contacts" as well as separate "Domain Info" and "Network Info". If no abuse contacts are displayed, look through the "Domain Info" and "Network Info" sections to source any additional contact information.
Email your PDF Takedown Notice to the hosting providers abuse@ or DMCA@ address(es).
